- Scope
- This specification applies to DC fixed capacitors with a rated voltage not exceeding 6300V. This type of capacitor uses polycarbonate film as the dielectric and thin metal foil as the electrode. For capacitors with rated voltages exceeding 1000V, additional tests and requirements shall be specified in the detailed specification. Capacitors specified in this specification are to be used in electronic equipment. This specification does not cover fixed capacitors used to suppress radio interference. This type of capacitor is specified in IEC384-14 "Fixed Capacitors for Electronic Equipment Part 14; Sub-Specification: Selection and General Requirements for Test Methods for Fixed Capacitors for Suppression of Radio Interference".
