- This standard stipulates how to lift and release hydrological instruments to predetermined measuring points to measure hydrological parameters such as water flow velocity, water depth, and sediment content in rivers, lakes, reservoirs, channels and other water bodies by means of survey ships, hydrographic cableways or bridge surveys. Structural types, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and markings, packaging, transportation and storage of various hydrological winches used. This standard applies to hydrographic winches used for hydrographic surveys.
