1.1 This requirement applies to capacitors with a rated voltage not greater than 600V (referred to as power factor compensation capacitors) and capacitors intended for power factor compensation in circuits that comply with national electrical regulations. This requirement also applies to capacitors with a rated voltage not greater than 300V (referring to fixed capacitors) and equipment used in conjunction with electronic discharge tube devices. And capacitors used at temperatures below 70°C (including 70°C). 1.2 Except for Chapters 18 to 25, these requirements do not apply to capacitors used as components in equipment, motors, transformers or electronic discharge tube ballasts.
