PURPOSE This recommended practice (RP) is intended to provide accurate information that can serve as a guide for selection, installation, testing, and operation of diverter equipment systems on land and marine drilling rigs (barge, platform, bottom-supported, and floating). Diverter systems are composed of all subsystems required to operate the diverter under varying rig and well conditions. A general description of operational procedures is presented with suggestions for the training of rig personnel in the proper use, care, and maintenance of diverter systems.
