- This standard specifies the technical requirements, inspection rules and rating charts for the spheroidization rate, spherical diameter, matrix structure, liquid carbides and magnesium-containing composite inclusions of ductile iron crankshafts. This standard is applicable to 207 series and 240 series diesel engine ductile iron crankshafts for internal combustion locomotives or general ductile iron castings whose mechanical properties and dimensions are equivalent to the locomotive diesel engine crankshaft.
