- This standard specifies general measurement methods for the basic characteristics of terrestrial wireless relay systems and satellite communication earth stations. These basic characteristics apply to all frequency ranges used in wireless systems, namely: ——radio frequency; ——intermediate frequency; ——baseband (e.g. clock frequency of digital baseband signals) Measurement methods for each parameter (e.g. return loss) , are given as a separate chapter whenever possible and apply to any of the frequency ranges mentioned above. Where exceptions occur, they will be given in the relevant provisions.
