This standard clarifies the definition, measurement methods and expression methods of the characteristics of anti-scatter grids used in diagnostic X-ray imaging devices. Its purpose is to reduce the impact of scattered rays mainly generated from the patient's body on X-rays to improve X-ray image contrast. This standard only covers linear grids. Currently, only converging grids are used in breast imaging technology, so this standard is limited to mammographic anti-scatter grids used in breast imaging. This standard does not apply to acceptance testing. This standard does not address the uniformity of the entire area of the grid. This standard is suitable for demonstrating the characteristics of anti-scatter grids under test conditions. Usually, these test conditions are not available at the user's site.
