- This standard specifies the liquid penetrant inspection methods, inspection levels, acceptable limits, inspection records, control of penetrating materials, and qualification assessment of penetrant inspection personnel for surgical metal implants. This standard is applicable to the detection of discontinuities or defects on the surface of surgical metal implants.
