Scope

This standard specifies the method for using backscattering technology to monitor changes in optical fiber transmission characteristics caused by optical discontinuities, physical defects and attenuation slope abnormalities. This standard is suitable for monitoring transmission attenuation changes during mechanical performance tests, environmental performance tests or other tests of optical fiber cables.
