- This specification details the design, manufacturing and testing requirements for swivel cranes mounted on a base as shown in Figure 1.1, which are used to carry equipment or personnel onto and off ships. This specification does not apply to the design, manufacture and testing of hangers and/or emergency escape devices. 1.1.1 Includes various methods of determining the rated lifting capacity based on the allowable stress of the load-bearing parts rather than the power transmission machinery, and also includes the minimum technical requirements for materials, design, manufacturing and testing.
