Scope

This standard specifies the design and strength calculation methods for railway passenger and freight train axles (hereinafter referred to as axles). This standard applies to non-powered solid axles for railway vehicles whose maximum speed does not exceed 160km/h for passenger cars and 120km/h for freight cars.
