- This standard applies to onshore pipeline systems for transporting gas constructed of steel materials. The pipeline system refers to all parts of the gas transmission facilities, including pipelines, valves, pipeline accessories, compressor units, metering stations, pressure regulating stations, distribution stations, gas storage facilities and prefabricated components. The principles and processes of integrity management apply to all piping systems. This standard has been specifically designed to provide operating companies (as defined in Chapter 13) with the information they need to develop and implement effective integrity management programs, using proven work practices and processes. The various procedures and methods in this standard apply to the entire piping system.
