Scope

This standard specifies the test requirements and methods for the cooling capacity of diesel locomotive oil and water systems. This standard applies to electric transmission and hydraulic transmission diesel locomotives powered by diesel engines for railways. Diesel locomotives used in industrial and mining applications may be implemented with reference to this standard.
