- This standard specifies the instruments, equipment, materials, reagents, and measurement methods and steps required when using ammonium thiocyanate as a tracer to measure the amount of drilling fluid filtrate intruding into the core. This standard is applicable to sandstone oil formations that do not contain thiocyanate or cyanide. When water-based drilling fluid is used for large-diameter or closed drilling and coring, the amount of drilling fluid filtrate invading the core is measured, and the amount after coring is measured.
