Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and markings for carbon steel castings (hereinafter referred to as castings). This standard is applicable to castings cast in sand molds or molds with equivalent thermal conductivity for railway rolling stock (including railway cranes). Castings cast in other molds can be used as reference.
