Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and markings for compacted graphite iron castings (hereinafter referred to as castings). This standard applies to ordinary and low-alloy castings for railway rolling stock (including railway cranes) cast in sand molds or molds with thermal conductivity equivalent to sand molds. Castings cast in other molds can be used as a reference.
