- In terms of technical content, this standard specifies the minimum requirements for performance, design, materials, welding, testing, inspection, storage and transportation of throttling and killing systems. This standard applies to equipment for surface and underwater throttling and killing systems that are safe and functionally interchangeable for drilling services. Other components of the choke and kill system that are not specifically mentioned in this standard shall comply with the applicable provisions of this standard.
