- This standard specifies the product classification, technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules for railway analog indicating locomotive speedometers and the speed sensors used together with them (hereinafter referred to as instruments and sensors). This standard is applicable to locomotive speedometers whose sensor outputs are AC analog quantities and frequency quantities, and the instrument is an analog electrical measuring instrument. This standard applies to analog indicating locomotive speedometers used on electric and diesel locomotives.
