Scope

This standard specifies the measurement methods and inspection rules for the cleanliness of rolling bearings of railway vehicles (hereinafter referred to as bearing cleanliness). This standard is applicable to the cleanliness testing of axlebox rolling bearings on railway vehicles before they are loaded (newly built and overhauled cars) and before their axleboxless tapered rolling bearings on freight cars leave the factory (newly manufactured and overhauled bearings).
