- This standard specifies the gas chromatographic determination method for glycerol content. This standard applies to pharmaceutical grade, industrial grade saponified glycerin and synthetic glycerol with a mass fraction of not less than 95%. The chromatogram obtained when measuring glycerol content using the method specified in this standard can be used to detect glycerin substitutes or such adulterants using ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol as the main raw materials.
