What is ISO 21970-1 - Designation system PK about?
ISO 21970-1 is the first part of the multi-series ISO 21970. ISO 21970-1 establishes a system of designation for polyketone (PK) moulding and extrusion materials which may be used as the basis for specifications. Polyketone polymer chains are built up from regularly alternating olefinic units and keto groups. The olefinic units shall be randomly distributed ethylene and propylene.
NOTE 1: The designation system is applicable to all polyketone terpolymers and blends. ISO 21970-1 applies to materials ready for normal use in the form of powder, granules, or pellets, unmodified or modified by colourants, fillers, or other additives.
NOTE 2: ISO 21970-1 is not intended to imply that materials having the same designation give necessarily the same performance. ISO 21970-1 does not provide engineering data, performance data, or data on processing conditions that may be required to specify a material. If such additional properties are required
Who is ISO 21970-1 - Designation system PK for ?
ISO 21970-1 on designation system PK is useful for:
Polyketone (PK) manufacturers
Product development / innovation / research teams
Quality control teams
Why should you use ISO 21970-1 - Designation system PK ?
Polyketones belong to the family of high-performance-thermoplastic polymers for their properties of solvent resistance, good mechanical properties, and very high melting temperature.
