Scope
1. SCOPe 1.1 These requirements cover shop fabricated aboveground protected tank assemblies that are used for the storage of flammable liquids and combustible liquids such as gasoline, fuel oil, or similar products with a specific gravity not greater than 1.0. 1.2 These protected tank assemblies consist of primary tanks provided with secondary containment and protective encasement. 1.3 These protected tank assemblies are intended for stationary installation and use in accordance with the following documents: A National Fire Code of Canada, Part 4; B CAN/CSA-B139, Installation Code for Oil Burning Equipment; C The Environmental Code of Practice for Aboveground Storage Tank Systems Containing Petroleum Products; and D The Requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. 1.4 These requirements and tests shall not be construed as having determined suitability for use of a protected tank assembly after fire exposure, or impact by vehicles, or small arms attack.
