Scope
This standard specifies a simple method for measuring the resonant frequency and resonant resistance of quartz crystal components and introduces a suitable measurement network. This measurement method and network are suitable for the frequency range of 1MHz to 200MHz. The frequency measurement accuracy is 10^(-6) and the repeatability is 10^(-6)~10^(-8), which depends on the measured Type of crystal element. The measurement accuracy of the resonant resistance is ±2% to ±5%, which depends on the accuracy of the voltage measurement. However, when the frequency is above about 100MHz, the use of this measurement method is limited due to the influence of the capacitance C|(0) of the crystal element under test. In order to be able to use kernel measurement methods under these conditions, some method needs to be used to compensate for C|(0). As the SJ/Z 9154.3-87 (IEC 444-3) standard, a method of compensating C|(0) will be given. Note: The measurement systems and networks covered by this standard have been improved to ensure that they meet the requirements of this standard. However, networks produced in accordance with the first edition of this standard are not invalidated by these improvements. These networks are still accepted as international standard methods for measuring resonant frequency fr and resonant resistance Rr. The problem of obtaining satisfactory base resistors can be solved if the reference resistors introduced in this standard are slightly modified so that they can be inserted into networks manufactured in accordance with the first edition of the IEC 444 standard.
