- This standard describes the standard measurement conditions and measurement methods for television broadcast receivers that comply with the terrestrial radio and television standards specified by ITU-R. The TV set applicable to this standard can be a TV set used to directly receive wireless broadcast TV, or a TV set received through a cable network, or can be used as a video recorder playback, home audio and video equipment, and a monitor for game consoles. This standard describes general measurement methods for the sound channels suitable for mono and multi-sound system receivers. General considerations for measurement are described in IEC 107-1 (2nd edition). Measurements on multi-sound channel systems are described in IEC 107-3, IEC 107-4 and IEC 107-5. Measurements under non-standard broadcast signal conditions are described in IEC 107-6. This standard describes the measurement of the performance of television sets and lists the characteristics useful for these properties and a uniform method of measuring these characteristics to facilitate uniform comparisons of television sets. However, no performance requirements are specified. This standard does not describe general safety requirements. This part shall be implemented in accordance with IEC Announcement 65 or other appropriate IEC safety standards. At the same time, the requirements for interference and immunity are not stated. These interference requirements are implemented in accordance with CISPR 13 and 20 announcements.
