This standard specifies the product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and markings, packaging, transportation and storage of AC ceiling-mounted electric fans and speed regulators (hereinafter referred to as "ceiling fans"). This standard applies to AC voltage not exceeding 250V. Ceiling fans for household and similar purposes driven by single-phase AC capacitor-operated electric motors. This standard does not apply to ceiling fans used under other special conditions.
