Scope
This standard specifies replaceable glow starters for preheated fluorescent lamps. Hereinafter referred to as "initiator". The first part specifies the general requirements and safety requirements that starters should comply with. Part 2 specifies the performance requirements for starters. NOTE: Starters are usually designed to start a range of lamps, the range of which depends on the supply voltage, whether a single lamp is operating as a single lamp or two lamps in series, the maximum lamp voltage and the starting requirements of the lamp.
