- This standard specifies the product classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and markings, packaging, transportation and storage of paper and cardboard tear testers. This standard is applicable to tear testers (hereinafter referred to as "tear testers") for tear strength testing of materials such as paper, cardboard, and tobacco sheets. The periodic technical status inspection of the tear tester during use should also be used with reference.
