This standard specifies the requirements for aircraft refueling on refueling equipment and oil quality control, as well as the safe operating methods and codes of conduct for personnel involved in aircraft refueling operations. This standard applies to the operation of refueling (discharging) fuel on the ground for all types of aircraft that are suitable for petroleum liquid fuel and the refueling and defueling of aircraft during maintenance. This standard does not apply to aircraft aerial refueling, water refueling of amphibious aircraft, and refueling and draining of aircraft fuel tanks during the manufacturing process of aircraft fuel systems.
