- This standard specifies the method for measuring the sound power level of chain saws. This standard provides all the information necessary to determine, label and verify the sound power levels of chain saws used primarily in forestry under standardized conditions. The use of this standard ensures the reproducibility of sound power level measurements. The accuracy of the sound power level is within the range specified by the basic noise standards for sound power level determination. According to this standard, the preferred method for sound power level determination is the engineering method (accuracy level 2).
