- This standard specifies the performance test methods and requirements for forced flow surface air coolers and air heaters. This standard applies to air coolers (or air heaters) using water as the medium and air heaters using steam as the medium. Air coolers using salt water or ethylene glycol solution as the medium can also be tested with reference to this standard. This standard does not apply to evaporators and condensers in refrigeration systems.
