- This standard specifies the technical requirements for the structure and installation, inspection, recording and maintenance, packaging, transportation and storage of electrically driven utility elevators with the car suspended by wire ropes or chains. This standard applies to elevators with a rated load capacity not greater than 500kg, a rated speed not greater than 1.0 m/s, and which are loaded at or above the floor level of the landing.
