Scope

General- The question of driver hand controls location is a complex one. While there is a general feeling that decrements in performance in locating and operating controls may affect the safety with which a vehicle is operated@ there is no solid evidence linking accidents with the inadvertent operation of automotive controls or to the inability to located an essential control in a timely manner.
