Generally, small ships constructed of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) may be detrimental to the reflection of radar g-signals. In the case where radar is used as the main observation tool for maritime ships, the International Maritime Organization believes that in this part of GB/T39085, it is necessary for small ships below 150GT to be equipped with radar reflectors to enhance their radar echoes, thereby improving the ship's detection Radar visibility. According to the requirements of resolution IMOMSC.164(78), this part specifies the minimum requirements for radar reflectors, aiming to improve the radar echo of small ships. This part provides specifications for the construction, performance, testing, inspection and installation of this type of radar reflector. Note: Requirements excerpted from resolution IMOMSC.164(78) are printed in italics.
