This part specifies the product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of resin-impregnated fiber grids for electrical applications. This section applies to meshes made by flat-twisting alkali-free glass fibers and rovings into fabrics with large meshes, impregnating them with epoxy resin or modified epoxy resin and curing them by heating. Grids are mainly used as filling reinforcement materials for the overall vacuum-cast insulation layer of dry-type transformer windings.
