- This standard specifies the A-weighted sound level limit for the sum of the no-load sound power level and the load current sound power level of 6kV to 500kV power transformers. This standard applies to oil-immersed power voltage regulators with voltage levels of 500V and below and dry-type power voltage regulators with voltage levels below 35kV. For other types of transformers, this standard may be adopted. Note: The sound level limits specified in this standard do not apply to amorphous alloy core transformers. The sound level limits of amorphous alloy core transformers are determined by the manufacturer and the user through consultation.
