Scope
1.1 This standard stipulates the man-hour quota for on-board installation testing of high- and medium-speed diesel main engines and diesel generators. 1.2 There are many types of high- and medium-speed diesel engines. This standard is compiled using models commonly used in ships. 1.3 The technical grades cited in this standard are based on the "Technical Grade Standards for Shipbuilding Industry Workers" issued by China State Shipbuilding Corporation in 1983. 1.4 The listed working hours quotas for each item in this standard are given under typical conditions and can be modified according to the actual difficulty when used. Please refer to the instructions for use of the relevant clauses and paragraphs of the revised system. 1.5 The working hour quota specified in this standard includes: basic time, auxiliary time, time for setting up the work place, time for rest and physiological needs, preparation and completion time. 1.6 The test of each chapter must comply with the test outline requirements in the current "Code for Construction of Sea-Going Steel Ships" issued by the Ship Inspection Bureau of the People's Republic of China for testing and handover. 1.7 Imported high- and medium-speed diesel main engines and diesel generators can be implemented according to the working hour quota standards of the same number of cylinders and cylinder diameters in this standard.
