- This standard specifies the machining allowances for sand, metal, die-cast, investment, and shell aluminum, copper, and magnesium alloy castings. This standard does not include the following machining allowances: a. The machining allowances for castings that have special requirements in terms of shape and machining methods, such as propellers, etc. b. Polishing allowance for casting cleaning. c. In order to meet the requirements of the casting process, such as preventing deflection and deformation, solving the sequential solidification of the metal, drafting angle, and adding process allowance and dimensional deviation for cutting the riser, etc.
