Scope
Under normal operation, the electrical and mechanical strength of the generator stator winding insulation will be generally reduced due to the long-term effects of electrical, thermal, mechanical and chemical factors. In addition, there are congenital defects in the generator process, which will inevitably produce various insulation Fault. When the generator stator winding insulation is aging or has workmanship defects, a correct judgment can be made on the condition of the stator insulation through identification tests. This standard is applicable to the aging identification of stator winding insulation of generators and condensers made of epoxy powder mica. When the equipment has been in operation for a long time (generally the cumulative operation time is more than 20 years) and when insulation breakdown occurs during operation or preventive testing, an insulation aging identification test should be carried out. During the first overhaul after a new machine is put into production, a non-destructive test can be performed on the stator winding insulation for future comparison and analysis.
