Scope

This guideline specifies the measurement methods of power frequency characteristic parameters of grounding devices and methods to reduce or eliminate the influence of certain factors on the measurement results. This guideline is applicable to the measurement of power frequency characteristic parameters of grounding devices such as power plants, substations and towers, and the measurement of soil resistivity at sites where power plants, substations and towers are to be built. This guideline also applies to the measurement of power frequency characteristic parameters of other grounding devices such as lightning rods and microwave towers.
