- This standard specifies the classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, markings, instructions for use and packaging, transportation and storage of fire sound and/or light alarms (hereinafter referred to as alarms). This standard applies to alarms installed in general industrial and civil buildings. Alarms with special performance installed in other environments should also comply with this standard, unless special requirements are separately specified by the relevant standards.
