Scope
This part of GA/T 379 specifies the requirements for the standard interface between the public switched telephone network (PSTN) and the alarm system transceiver in the alarm system. It specifies the 1 200 baud rate using the ITU-T recommendation V.23 standard Interface. This section is equally applicable to the interface between the alarm system and the PSTN where the alarm system transceiver function is integrated in the control and indication equipment (CEI). It is also applicable to the interface of the terminal receiver of the alarm receiving center to the PSTN. The requirements in this section are to ensure compatibility between equipment from different providers. This section is equally applicable to the transmission of alarm information and other information to/from intrusion, fire alarm, exit control and social alarm systems, as well as the transmission of information to/from other similar systems.
