Scope

This standard specifies the protection requirements for air crews against non-nuclear weapons threats to minimize the damage to air crews from enemy non-nuclear weapons threats. This standard applies to aircraft that are vulnerable to enemy air-to-air and ground-to-ground weapons and other non-nuclear weapons in combat. It includes all types of military aircraft except research aircraft and training aircraft.
