Scope: This document describes a method for the determination of the fatigue properties of flexible porous polymeric materials expressed in terms of thickness loss under repeated constant deformation compression. This document applies to quality control during the production of flexible porous polymeric materials. Another fatigue performance test method has been specified in ISO33852: to determine the fatigue properties of [] flexible porous polymer materials by applying a constant pressure instead of a constant deformation to the sample. The material classification system in ISO 59994 is based on this approach. [] These two fatigue performance test methods are complementary and can be used to predict end-use performance. The methods and equipment used in this document allow testing of multiple specimens at one time, while the compression equipment in ISO 3385 [2] only allows testing of one specimen at a time.
