- This standard specifies the classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage and other requirements for wire rope compression joints. This standard applies to the design, manufacture, inspection and delivery of steel wire rope compression joints for civil aircraft control. Other aircraft types can also be implemented with reference. This standard also applies to other general-purpose wire rope compression joints on aircraft.
