- This standard specifies the minimum performance requirements for civil aircraft overspeed warning devices. This standard applies to overspeed warning instruments (hereinafter referred to as instruments) that use static pressure and full pressure input to generate pressure altitude and speed. This standard also applies to overspeed warning functions incorporated into air data computers, airspeed indicators, airspeed Mach number indicators, or other instruments.
