- This specification specifies the general requirements for the sampling and preparation of rod (block) specimens for spectral analysis of steel and high-temperature alloys, including methods for preparing specimens for smelting analysis, finished product analysis and raw material retest analysis, as well as arbitration and samples for failure analysis, etc. This specification is applicable to the sampling and preparation of rod (block) samples used for spectral analysis (including atomic emission spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy) of steel and high-temperature alloys.
