- This standard specifies the test methods for methanation catalyst activity, particle crushing strength, abrasion rate, loss on ignition and nickel content. This standard applies to J 101, J 105 and J 106 Q-type methanation catalysts that hydrogenate a small amount of carbon oxides in the gas to generate methane in ammonia synthesis and hydrogen production series devices.
