Scope: This standard (guiding technical document) recommends relevant material standards that can be used in the design, modification and manufacturing of civil aircraft (material standards for civil aircraft engines and auxiliary aircraft are not included in this catalog). This standard applies to the selection of materials and their standards when designing civil aircraft, and also applies to the selection of materials and their standards when replacing materials in the modification design and manufacturing of existing civil aircraft. This standard can also be used with reference to when designing, modifying and manufacturing military aircraft.
