Scope

This standard specifies the general principles, assessment procedures, assessment methods, monitoring methods, etc. for online health assessment of elevators in use. This standard applies to traction drive passenger elevators. Hydraulic elevators, firefighter elevators and explosion-proof elevators can refer to the revised rules. It does not apply to escalators and moving walkways.
