- This standard specifies the method for the determination of free acidity of unplasticized cellulose acetate cord. The free acidity measured by this method includes the water-extractable acidity and the acidity of acidic groups such as carboxyl groups directly attached to cellulose acetate. The latter usually constitute a very small part of the total. This method is not suitable for cellulose acetate containing any additives that may affect the test results.
